COUNTRYFEST POSTPONED AND ADDED TO THE PROGRAMME OF THE NEW RICHMOND BLUEGRASS FESTIVAL
Following the announcement by the premier of Québec, Mr. Francois
Legault, that all cultural and sporting events including festivals which were
scheduled for this summer be postponed until August 31, New Richmond CountryFest
will be postponed. The event was to take place from July 1 to 5 at Duthie Point
in New Richmond.
In spite of our disappointment, the well being of attendees, volunteers
and musicians is very important to us and we must all work together to defeat
the COVID-19 virus.
CountryFest, will now take place at the same time as the New Richmond
Bluegrass Festival, from September 2 to 6. Bluegrass shows will take place on the main stage
as usual, with country music being performed in the barn prior to the beginning
of the bluegrass shows, during the supper breaks and in the late evening after
the bluegrass music ends. The event will also include a Canada Day celebration
on Wednesday September 2.
Organisers are confident the formula will please festival goers and will
attend in large numbers to celebrate a return to normalcy.
